New Russian national champions Ksenia Semyonova and Maxim Devyatovsky each won an event. Semyonova won her speciality, uneven bars, with the day's highest score for the women (15.975). Devyatovsky won silvers on floor and rings before winning the parallel bars gold.

Anton Golotsutskov was the only double winner, with golds on men's floor exercise and vault.

Veteran Anna Pavlova scratched the competition because of a slight injury to her leg, sustained before Thursday's qualification competition.
