French gymnast Marine Boyer said that narrowly missing a medal at last summer's Rio Olympic Games has inspired her to challenge for one at the 2020 Tokyo Games.

Featured in the June 2017 issue of International Gymnast magazine, French gymnast Marine Boyer said that narrowly missing a medal at last summer's Rio Olympic Games has inspired her to challenge for one at the 2020 Tokyo Games.

"It gave me more motivation to make more difficulties and skills on the beam, and gave me the goal to be a medalist at the next Olympic Games," said Boyer, who placed fourth on balance beam in Rio, and 16th all-around and seventh on balance beam at the European Championships in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in April.

Boyer is among the eight gymnasts featured in "Cluj (Confidentially)," a collection of behind-the-scenes profiles from Europeans, in the June 2017 issue of International Gymnast magazine. The other gymnasts featured are: Eddy Yusof (Switzerland), Veronica Cenková (Czech Republic), Marios Georgiou (Cyprus), Ioanna Xoulogi (Greece), Joe Fraser (Great Britain), Ágnes Sütő (Iceland) and James Hall (Great Britain).
