American Maggie Nichols' performances at last fall's world championships in Glasgow was a " huge confidence booster," she told IG.

Featured in the International Gymnast magazine’s 60th anniversary issue that is publishing this month, Maggie Nichols of the U.S. said her gold- and bronze medal-winning performances at last fall’s world championships in Glasgow encouraged and inspired her.

“My confidence is really good,” said Nichols, a team gold medalist and floor exercise bronze medalist in Glasgow. “I think it was a huge confidence booster."

Although Nichols did not compete in the all-around in the qualification, she was the only U.S. gymnast selected to compete all four events in the 3-up-3-count team final.

"Being able to compete all four events in the team final, and making the floor final was awesome. It is a huge boost.”

Read a profile on Nichols in the January/February 2016 issue of International Gymnast magazine; and coverage of the 2015 worlds in the December 2015 issue, a special issue which is devoted to the competition in Glasgow.
