Yusuke Tanaka took two titles as the Japanese men and Russian women finished their sweep of the gold medals Sunday at the 9th Toyota International in Aichi Prefecture.

Tanaka grabbed gold medals on his two best events, parallel bars and high bar, to end his year on a high note following the team success at October's world championships in Glasgow. Teammate Ryohei Kato was a double bronze medalist on the same events, finishing behind Vietnam's Hoang Cuong on parallel bars and Hungary's Dávid Vecsernyés on high bar.

Teen twisting star Kenzo Shirai grabbed a second title in Toyota on vault. Shirai, who debuted an incredible triple-twisting double layout en route to the gold on floor exercise on Saturday, had enough energy leftover Sunday to vault his namesake triple-twisting Yurchenko and Tsukahara 2 1/2. Vietnam's Le Thanh Tung won the silver medal ahead of American Eddie Penev, who was also the bronze medalist on floor exercise.

In the women's competition, two more Russians were golden. Viktoria Komova made up for her disappointing result on uneven bars (two falls) by finally winning a beam title. Despite a wobble after her standing Arabian, Komova had the highest Execution score of the final to take gold over double silver medalists Noémi Makra and Yu Minobe (Japan).

Two-time Olympian Ksenia Afanasyeva held off supertumbler Sae Miyakawa of Japan, 14.500-14.450. Miyakawa, a floor finalist in Glasgow, increased her difficulty from 6.3 to 6.5 but a step out of bounds held her to second place. Vietnamese Olympian Phan Thi Ha Thanh won the bronze.

Crowd favorite Oksana Chusovitina finished sixth on balance beam, where she showed how to compete without a wobble, and on floor exercise. She tumbled a tucked full-in, but in training has been showing the "Chusovitina," the double layout full-out she first debuted 24 years ago.
