American Bailie Key and Japan's Kazuma Kaya won the all-around titles at the Japan Junior International, held Sunday and Monday in Yokohama.

Key, fresh off her victory at the U.S. junior championships in August, dominated the competition with a complete sweep of the gold medals in Yokohama. During Sunday's all-around compeition, she held off China's Wang Yan by a full 1.5 point margin of victory. American Lauren Hernandez took third, just .15 behind Wang.

Coached by former world champion Kim Zmeskal and her husband Chris Burdette, Key was the only gymnast to score above 15.000 in Yokohama. Her clean double-twisting Yurchenko on vault (15.050) and 6.1-Difficulty floor set (15.000) helped pace her to victory during Sunday's all-around.

Japan finished 1-2 in the men's competition, for the fourth straight tournament, with Kazuma Kaya comfortably outscoring teammate Wataru Tanigawa by just above a full point. Rising British star Brinn Bevan took the bronze above China's Wu Di.

The men's apparatus titles were more equally distributed, with Asian gymnasts grabbing four golds. Wu won floor exercise, Kaya took two more titles on pommel horse and high bar, and Tanigawa was first on vault. Russia's Ilya Kibartas won still rings, while British champion Nile Wilson won parallel bars.

Held every two years, the competition is one of the most prestigious international tournaments for juniors. Previous women's champions include Romanians Teodora Ungureanu (1975), Daniela Silivas (1983) and Maria Olaru (1997); Soviet Svetlana Boginskaya (1985); and Russians Yevgenia Kuznetsova (1995) and Viktoria Komova (2009). American Rebecca Bross swept the competition in 2007 and compatriot Lexie Priessman won four of five titles in 2011.

Past standouts among the men's champions include Soviets Valery Liukin (1985), Sergei Kharkov (1987) and Ivan Ivankov (1991); China's Huang Liping (1989), Huang Xu (1995) and Yang Wei (1997) and Germany's Fabian Hamb&muuml;chen (2003). The host team has dominated the past several men's events. 2012 Olympian Yusuke Tanaka won back-to-back titles in 2007 and 2009, and Shogo Nonomura and Ryohei Kato finished 1-2 in 2011. Current world and Olympic champion Kohei Uchimura competed exhibition at the 2005 edition at age 16, earning a score that would have been good enough for fifth all-around.
