Jewish Gymnast Balances Sports, Religion

The experience of a 7-year-old gymnast at the recent New Jersey state championships has brought attention to athletes whose religious beliefs sometimes complicate their sporting aspirations. Last month, Amalya Knapp was unable to compete along with the other Level 4 gymnasts as the state competition fell on a Saturday durng the Jewish sabbath.
