![]() National champion Rebecca Bross will lead the U.S. women in defense of their world title this month in Rotterdam. The U.S. announced its finalized women's team to the upcoming world championships in Rotterdam. National champion Rebecca Bross and world champion Bridget Sloan will lead the U.S. women in defense of their world title this month in Rotterdam. On Wednesday, Bross and Sloan were named to the team along with Olympic gymnast Alicia Sacramone, Mattie Larson, Mackenzie Caquatto, Alexandra Raisman and Chelsea Davis. Team veteran Sacramone was a member of the U.S. teams that finished first at the 2007 Worlds and second at the 2008 Olympics. "We have a strong team that features a mixture of veterans and newcomers," said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics. "It is exciting to see so many young athletes competing at the world championships two years out from the Olympic Games. This is the perfect opportunity for them to gain valuable experience on the world stage. We are also lucky to have the leadership of a couple of more experienced athletes. This year's worlds gives everyone the chance to see where they stand at this pivotal point heading into London in 2012." The 2010 World Gymnastics Championships, Oct. 16-24 in Rotterdam, feature team, all-around and individual events. External Link: USA Gymnastics Comments (9)

Team It should of been Hunter over Mackenzie.. Macko is inconsitent and really can not help the team. Chelsea can help us on Bars!!!!! Can't believe Sloan made it either she is to banged up.. |

Team Sloan probably isn't bangged up anymore. She made smart decisions and played it safe during her "injury" time and her injuries weren't too serious either. She is a good consistent competitor than can help when or where we need her. I too and a little curious as to why Mackenzie was picked, I guess we have to wait and see. We must be desperate on bars for her to be named. I don't mean to be too harsh, I can't do half the stuff she can, it's just my opinion! I am happy with the other members though, a nice healthy balance. Hopefully our bar workers will be up to par with the rest of the world come 2012! |

... It did not make any sense to have Sacramone, Raisman and Kytra Hunter in the team since the three lack the potential of either competing or scoring well on Uneven Bars. Actually I will think that the weaker on Uneven Bars will end up being the Alternate. US needs good UB scores. Alicia is in and will compete, that's for sure, so either Raisman or whoever is not a strong UB worker will be the alternate. |

Really... Chelsea Davis and Caquatto over Hunter...they just bought themselves a gold medal loss in floor, and possibly beam. I thought Kytra should've replaced Hong last year and now she's not even in the top 6 this year that's ridiculous...She was training Amanars, Full Twisting Double Layout on floor...amazing beam. Um and people can't you have 6 people on a team...which means Marta will name a completley different Alternate? |

... US needs Sacramone on vault, period, plus they can use her on beam too. She's very steady. And she is a good team leader. Probably will win vault too with Cheng Fei and the North Koreans out. |
